  • Don’t let the road description scare you into passing this scenic trip up. It’s worth it. 
  • Use this as an excuse to swing by the historic ghost town of Jerome – not that you need an excuse!

Where does the drive begin and end?

The drive itself is relatively short – approximately 12 miles of highway from one side of the mountain over the other. But the views will stay with you forever.

How long does the drive take?

You can expect this trip to take you approximately four hours round-trip, but expect to spend plenty of time sightseeing and visiting other areas of central Arizona. Please understand that this is a two-lane road with steep drop-offs and plenty of switchbacks. You will need to take it slowly.

Deep canyons, beautiful views of the Verde Valley, pines and pinions line this scenic drive.
